You wouldn't believe how long it took me to find a way to explain that he was a handsome guy. Read about selkis on Wikipedia and it mentioned something like that, so to stay true to the mythology I looked for a way. Thank goodness for Axle. If anyone actually caught that reference, I would honestly be pretty amazed.

If that was originally a guy, looks like you did a pretty bang-up transition to a girl. Even with just a sketch I can tell the finished product will be really well done. That type of character not only makes for an interesting character, but an even more curious piece of art. Can't wait to see the finished product!
I think I've taken a big shine to gender-swapped characters lately. That, physics and time travel. If you like any of those, I highly recommend stein's gate. Started watching the anime, love it,(despite being like a year or two late to discovering it) and I have no one to gush about it to lol.

You'll probably like the eyes a lot better once its a finished product lol. Reading my work before I complete the chapter drives me nuts, and with the storyboards its even worse 'cause idk whats in between. Though I still feel a lot of envy for artists. Lately I've been surfing tumblr and looking at all sorts of fan art and comics for the new Fire Emblem(which I'm in love with) and seeing the way they recreated their characters from the game made me jelly lol. I could only imagine the effort required for it though lol. Tumblr's also a good way to get your work out there. Sadly, I don't have any followers 'cause I have nothing to post, but I'd gladly follow to see what you might be working on every now and then.

The life and times of an artist lol. But really, I'm being straight up! No bullshit, I swear. The best thing I can do is give my honest opinion on things, especially the creative endeavours of others. On the other hand, I have a huge fascination with artwork lately, so to be able to get a look at sketches before they're completed makes it even better lol. I can't help but get really excited over things sometimes. Very rarely, but when I do I mean business lol.
Also started following you. I go to tumblr everyday now for my daily FEA fix so I'll be keeping an eye out for your stuff especially.

Looks like it took a lot of time and effort, but once you finish it'll certainly be fantastic. I'm surprised you don't post more of your stuff on tumblr. I think that even the unifinished works are great. If I had any semblance of artistic talent or understanding I'd offer you tips, but I don't. But a good piece of art can be appreciated by the unwashed masses like me lol and appreciate it I do.
You are right about the dimensions though. The site does say that, but it also says that or larger, so if its any bigger than that it should be fine. Seems that the only way it'd be a problem is if it were smaller.
